First Prize - LOW COST PEPPER SEPARATOR

Ingenious to India, pepper, rightly called the King of Spices, is one of the oldest and best-known spices in the world. India has always reigned supreme in the production and export of this most exotic and sought-after spice Pepper. Indian pepper had a profound influence on the European economy of the middle Ages. Many western countries owed their prosperity to this spice, which fetched them a very high price. Easily. the finest in quality anywhere, Indian pepper is grown in the monsoon forests along the Malabar Coast in South India. Here, a combination of natural advantages and organic techniques produces bigger, better shaped, more aromatic and flavourful berries.

Two of the most celehrated trade varieties of Indian black pepper are ‘Malabar Garbled’ and ‘TeHichery Extra Bold’. India also offers green pepper in several processed forms – frozen, dehydrated, freeze-dried and packed in brine. Pepper is a perennial climber requiring the support. Manual pepper threshing is a difficult process since there is no method existing to cope with high production needs of the farmers. Through this project we are aiming to make a simple, economical and practically feasible solution to this problem.

Second Prize - SEEDING MACHINE


The SEEDING MACHINE will eject seeds when you push it and When you stop pushing the seeding stops! There is no engine, no motor, and no battery.

SEEDING MACHINE are designed to deliver seed product through a durable wheel plate which is driven by the wheels. seed is fed to the wheel plate & then delivered to the pipe, as you forward. For the convenient and accurate application of seeding, all type of seed. For all garden and grass areas, cotton, soybean, corn and drives, particularly block paved driveways ‘with the ever increasing demand for environmentally friendly products SEEDING MACHINE are the perfect machines for today’s grounds man. Our country is a greenish country. Also the 90% of people in the villages of our country work as farmers. Farming is a very heavy duty job. By development of different techniques in agricultures farmer get maximum profit. The manual effort get reduced.

Seeding operation is most important operation.As well as essential.The seeding is considered as the first operation of farming .To till date many equipment has been available in market for seeding but this all are conventional source of energy. Thus farmer has more efforts to do this operation.So that most of the human effort want to be involved in the seeding operation

Third Prize – DENSITY AND PRIORITY BASED TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM USING COMPUTER VISION IN ARM PROCESSOR

This project is targeted for a typical developing country like India where the traffic density is raising exponentially but not the infrastructure to contain it. Most of the traffic junction control signals works based on fixed time concept, the time for Green/Red signals are previously set on the basis of expected traffic densities. Such systems are not dynamic and yields poor results in many situations. Comparatively newer trend is the use of close circuit cameras in traffic junctions and in high density areas for surveillance. But compared to the huge amount of money spend by the government for just the surveillance system is inefficient.

Our system is designed to improve the existing traffic control and surveillance systems by multi-tasking the cameras of surveillance systems to control traffic flow. This improved traffic control system will take into account wider range of subtleties in traffic patterns using image processing techniques, and will be a standalone system powered by an ARM processor.

The system can track traffic density at junctions using live feeds from cameras and control the traffic signals Red, Green& Amber. The time given for PASS/STOP at a junction is dynamically determined based on the density of vehicles through each route. The novelty of our concept work is that the control is not just based on density but priority. Priority will be given to specific class of vehicles like ambulances, police vehicles etc. high priority vehicles will be automatically tracked using an advanced method like Machine Learning algorithms for feature detection from images with very high accuracy. These algorithms make the system intelligent enough to detect multiple ambulances from the video feeds, these algorithms can account for any level of zoom (distance of ambulance from junction), change in its orientation, or change in light intensities.

Considering the number of parallel processes, the whole system will require intensive processing power at every junction, deploying a computer for this purpose is neither feasible nor economical. Our system uses stand-alone processing unit powered by an ARM processor running an Angstrom Linux which can give equivalent processing power but consumes very less power and can even be powered using a solar panel and a battery pack. The whole system is directly deployable at any traffic junction as a standalone unit and is cost effective and feature rich compared to present technologies like Internet Protocol (IP) cameras.

Consolation Prize – Multifunctional Bedcare Unit For Bedsore Patients

In this project we are implementing a bed which will prevent the bedsore and heal bedsore .Bed sores are a major problem for patients who are confined to bed or a wheelchair. Bedsores are the painful, often reddened area of degenerating, ulcerated skin caused by pressure and lack of movement, and worsened by exposure to urine or other irritating substances on the skin. Untreated bed sores can become seriously infected. They can be prevented by moving the patient frequently, changing bedding, and keeping the skin clean and dry. Bedsores are also called a pressure sore, decubitus sore, or decubitus ulcer. In this project we are implementing a bed care unit which will prevent the causation of the bedsore. There are mainly four features included in this project. First feature we are including is an automatic movement system to provide the movement for the sections of bed if the patient is not moving within 30 minutes. Secondly, we are implementing an alternate heat/cold generation system .Then we are including a humidity detection system to alert the caregivers .Finally we are including an automatic fragrance system in order to remove the bad odour from the bedsore patients.

Consolation Prize – TURBO-CHARGER IN PETROL ENGINE (SINGLE CYLINDER 4-S ENGINE)

The “HELIOP ED” is a single person 3 wheeled caniers that can be used by people who have difficulties in walking or are handicapped or paralyzed. In this vehicle the person can lie dovvn and ride the vehicle in a reclined fashion. It is mainly aimed at people who have difficulties in walking or have paralyzed or damaged legs but functioning arms.

It is driven by a brushless DC motor and controlled electronically using microcontrollers. It draws power from solar charged batteries and thus is an eco-friend1y means of transpOli. It is a highly efficient vehicle with excellent control. It can move over ordinary roads and does not require special surfaces. It provides two modes of operation .One supporting constant speed, specially aimed at old people where there is no facility for acceleration beyond a limit. The other mode facilitates acceleration to the maximum supported speed. The vehicle has a steering unit and braking unit which control the actions of steering and braking unit using brushed DC motors.

The vehicle is an innovative and an enterprising solution for transportation in the future as it relies on solar power charged batteries which bears important significance in the present scenario of rising fuel prices and shrinking fossil fuel resources. The vehicle has a maximum power point converter to ensure efficient charging. It makes use of two micro controllers for the efficient control of the vehicle. The vehicle also has additional features like shock absorbers.
